Why cantilevers move quickly.
The fixed support carries the maximum moment and shear. With constant stiffness, the free-end deflection scales with the cube of the length, so small changes in projection can matter more than expected.

For end load P, length L, elastic modulus E, and second moment I: M = PL, δ = PL³/(3EI), and θ = PL²/(2EI).
