People often need a quick, explainable engineering check before they need a full design model. CivilKit is being built for that space: focused tools, clear units, visible assumptions, and reference notes that help a number make sense.

What CivilKit is for

CivilKit is a practical toolbox for students, site engineers, technicians, and designers working through everyday civil engineering questions. The current release covers small structural checks, elastic bending-stress screening, preliminary reinforced-concrete beam flexural capacity and required-steel sizing, ideal Euler column-buckling screening, gross column stress screening, floor-load take-offs, grade geometry, footing pressure and retaining-wall earth-pressure screening, construction and earthwork quantities, rectangular and trapezoidal open-channel hydraulics, full and partially full circular-pipe capacity, and preliminary stormwater runoff. More tools will be added only when the assumptions can be written down clearly.

How tools are written

Each calculator starts with a defined load case or geometry, states its units, shows the governing relationship, and separates a quick result from the decisions that still need professional judgement. The aim is to make the result easy to inspect and easy to explain to the next person.

What CivilKit is not

It is not a replacement for design codes, national annexes, project specifications, geotechnical reports, manufacturer data, a complete structural or hydraulic model, or review by a suitably qualified engineer. Results are educational quick checks and should be treated accordingly.
