Parameter input guide
Set dimensions and cube strength, then enter practical bar counts and diameters or centre-to-centre bar spacing. Use independently checked factored actions. Hover, focus or tap the information controls for units and source assumptions.
Worked source example
A 1,000 × 400 mm strip, 50 mm cover and T16 @ 225 mm provides 893.609 mm²/m. Source M = 102.615 kN·m and V = 127.252 kN give source d = 330 mm and required bending steel 806.188 mm²/m. These benchmark values test the port, not compliance.
Scope and limitations
The source lever-arm and shear-factor expressions contain material issues. Their values are displayed as comparisons and cannot establish a design pass. SLS, global analysis, anchorage, laps, punching, two-way slab behaviour and current-code detailing are not assessed. Do not equate a reinforcement demand ratio with moment capacity utilisation.
